Comic Party - Anime Television Series (2001)

Photo from Amazon.com of the Art Box Edition
The Comic Party anime is an adaptation of the Japanese romantic adventure/dating sim of the same name. It was originally broadcast on Japanese UHF stations on April 1, 2001. This is not to be confused with Comic Party Revolution which was its sequel Or Comic Party Revolution (OVA) which is an alternate retelling.

The series consists of 13 episodes and 4 "special mini" episodes. There are 3 releases of the DVD's, 2 of which consist of 4 disks and 1 which consists of 2 disks.

The original 4 disks were released in 2004 and licensed for distribution by The Right Stuf International Inc. These disks were standard size DVD's with reversible cover art as well as inserts which parody various famous anime and describe the episodes contained along with providing various fun trivia about each episode. These were collected in a special Art Box with slip case. The 4 disks are as follows:

Disk 1: A New World (eps. 1-3 + Special Mini 1)
Disk 2: We Need Money! (eps. 4-6 + Special Mini 2)
Disk 3: The Big Time (eps. 7-9 + Special Mini 3)
Disk 4: The Final Page (eps. 10-13 + Special Mini 4)

A DVD Thinpak Collection was released in 2006, again by The Right Stuf International. The disks remain identical but the cases have changed. The cover art is no longer reversible and the inserts have been removed and placed together in a single booklet that rests in the collector's box.

In 2015, Eastern Star and Discotek Media released a new Complete Collection on 2 disks. It contains the 13 episodes but little else is known to me as I do not own it.

Negima! - Anime Television Series (2005)

Photo from Amazon.co.uk of the Region 2 DVD
Negima! is the original television anime series based on the manga Negima! Magister Negi Magi. Originally released on TV Tokyo, it was licensed for distribution by Funimation in North America. Not to be confused with any of the OVA, the film, the live action series, or Negima!? (which is an alternate retelling of Negima! Magister Negi Magi).

The series has 26 episodes released on 6 disks. There seem to be several releases of the disks including the standard edition and limited editions released between 2006 and 2007 and an edition released as part of the Viridian Collection in 2008. Apparently, the Viridian Collection was an attempt by Funimation to make DVD's a little more environmentally friendly and affordable before they started coming out with the S.A.V.E. (Super Amazing Value Editions) collections.

There are also at least 3 box sets including the standard edition box set, the Viridian Collection box set, and another edition that appears to be the six standard DVD's in a special collector's box that features art from the show in two-tone maroon and gold and stores the DVD's horizontally stacked on top of each other with the spine facing up.

The 6 disks are as follows:

Magic 101: The Basics of Magic (eps. 1-6)
Magic 201: Magic and Combat (eps. 7-10)
Magic 301: Practical Application of Magic (eps. 11-14)
Magic 401: Magical Enchantments (eps. 15-18)
Magic 501: Magic Outside the Classroom (eps. 19-22)
Magic 601: Magic and the Dark Arts (eps. 23-26)
